BOVAER ENQUIRY: We can confirm that none of the farmers Mortons are working with are involved in this trial

A local charity which tackles poverty in Speke today took delivery of hundreds of breakfast items to distribute amongst residents in time for Christmas Day.

Five Children & Families Trust, based on Conleach Road in Speke, received the giant shipment of food essentials from family-owned business Mortons Dairies.

Mortons Dairies co-ordinated the delivery with the support of a range of suppliers including Roberts Bakery, Coultons Bread, Langs Eggs, Ann Forshaw’s Yogurt, Dunsters Farm and Manor Lodge.

Donna Lauder, of Five Children & Families Trust, said:

"This year is harder than ever and levels of poverty continue to rise. As a charity in the heart of the community we are doing our very best to ensure that local families can be fed properly during this crisis. We are grateful for the support of Mortons Dairies and all its suppliers who have made a positive impact on the community and made Christmas Day a little easier for people who need our support more than ever.”

Julian Harrison, Joint Managing Director of Mortons Dairies, which has a depot in Speke, said:

It has been a very challenging year for many people in the local communities that we serve and poverty levels have increased during 2020 bringing hardship and anxiety to many people across our region. We’d like to thank all our suppliers for their support of this local charity which is close to the hearts of our staff and customers.”

Mortons Dairies has delivered milk in glass bottles on Merseyside for nearly 100 years. It has more than 140,000 glass bottles in circulation and delivers more than 35,000 pints of milk from seven depots on a fleet of around 100 electric milk floats.
